On Tuesday, April 26th the newly formed Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Awareness (HOLA) Lockheed employee resource group (ERG) for the Fort Worth area held its inaugural kickoff meeting. The meeting was open to all Lockheed employees regardless of business unit or job function and acting President, Mike Gutierrez, presented the new vision and mission of the organization and answered questions from the audience.

On Friday, May 20th the acting HOLA board held a leadership retreat to finalize the acting board positions, vote on and ratify a set of bylaws for the organization, establish goals for the coming year, and draft out a timeline of events and operational tempo. HOLA will very similarly focus on the pillars of leadership development, professional development, community outreach, and chapter development for Lockheed Martin employees.

HOLA has already created synergy with the LM Aero SHPE chapter with four previous SHPE Presidents as well as the current chapter president serving on the acting board, and executing a joint professional lunch and learn event during the month of June. Membership in HOLA has also already swelled to over 125 Lockheed employees in a little over a month including all 50+ SHPE LM Aero members. The chapter looks forward to more joint events in the future.
