2014 SHPE Region 5 Jr. Conference

The SHPE Region 5 Jr. STEM Conference was designed to bring science and engineering training, STEM activities, SHPE Jr. Leadership training, college prep, internship, and scholarship workshops to the most highly concentrated sub-regional areas with SHPE Jr. Chapters including Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, College Station, Houston, McAllen, and El Paso. The region-wide conference was one-day virtual workshop designed to increase the awareness of STEM and encourage young high schools to pursue future STEM careers and college degrees.
This was the first-ever SHPE Jr. Conference held within Region 5 and SHPE National. The event was sponsored by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, Control Products Corporation, and Avionic Technologies, Inc. 22 SHPE Jr. chapters were represented region-wide and 6 participated at UT Arlington. The conference co-host SHPE chapters included the SHPE UT Arlington, UT El Paso, UT Pan-American, UT Austin, Texas A&M, and the University of Houston.
