The Trinity SHPE Jr Chapter is off to a great start with a strong group of Hispanic students involved on a regular basis attending all four SHPE Jr. mentoring meetings during the Fall Semester.


The SHPE Jr. Program allows SHPE members the opportunity to network with young high school students encouraging them to pursue future STEM college degrees and careers while you gain valuable leadership experience with planning, budgeting, facilitating, and public-speaking skills.

The kids are always excited to hear perspectives from different and new volunteers. The SHPE Jr. mentoring meeting format is 4 hours per month and includes recurring Professional development workshops and STEM activities.

Upcoming spring semester Trinity SHPE Jr. Chapter events include a Region 5 conference at UT Arlington, RLDC Pre-College Symposium at UT Austin, a Lockheed Martin Aeronautics tour, and UT Arlington college tour. More volunteers are always appreciated and welcomed.
