The SHPE Jr chapter at Trinity High School recently held their final mentoring session and End of the Year celebration party this past May 23rd. During the last meeting, the students learned about future job opportunities with Lockheed Martin and the F-35 Program. The students also received awards and F-35 lanyards, in addition to bidding farewell to the graduating seniors.

Reflecting on the past year, the Trinity SHPE Jr. Club learned about FAFSA, the college application process, resume writing techniques, job interviewing skills, scholarships, summer programs/internship opportunities, and how to solve real-word science and engineering problems. There were represented at the Region 5 SHPE Conference held at UT Arlington, and in collaboration with SHPE Lockheed Martin Aeronautics hosted a Noche de Ciencias bilingual parent-student workshop this past October.

The chapter would like to thank the Trinity school advisor, Sra. Monica Ubillus, and our own James Narey for all his hard work this past year. Finally, congratulations to all of the 2014 graduating Trinity SHPE Jr. seniors, and best of luck to them in all their future endeavors!
